Will Andresen

Some hair remains on Andresen’s head after 35 years of rural and small-town community development. Early, earnest and naive work as a community planning consultant, chamber director and community development director led Will to a strong understanding of how not to effect change in such remote places. After joining the University of Wisconsin Extension (as Community Resource Development Educator in Iron County for 16 years before retiring out as Director of UW’s Community Development Institute), Andresen utilized these lessons to seek and test more effective change making. Now in retirement, he applies these lessons through collaborative local efforts to build meaningful and impactful asset-based community development change.
