Travis Pinter, PhD, is the senior director of Specialized Services for Milwaukee Public Schools, overseeing special education, psychological services, social work, nursing and the School Community Partnership for Mental Health (SCPMH). Dr. Pinter has served the Milwaukee Public Schools since 2004 as a school-based psychologist, member of the Violence Prevention Program, central administrator and head of the district’s crisis response team. His work since 2016 has involved developing and delivering training on trauma-informed care, managing the district’s trauma care specialists and establishing community and agency partnerships to better address the impact of trauma in the lives of children and families in Milwaukee. Dr. Pinter is currently a council member of the Wisconsin Council on Special Education, a member of Milwaukee County’s Child Death Review Team and a member of the Violence Response-Public Health and Safety Team (VR-PHAST).
