Peter Wilson is a passionate elementary educator who changed careers mid-life; the decision transformed his life. Prior to teaching, Peter worked in engineering, training, desktop publishing and technical writing. His teaching career began as the fourth through sixth grade teacher at Racine Montessori School, then as the math teacher leader at Milwaukee Public School’s Golda Meir School, and now as the fourth grade teacher at University Lake School, in Hartland. He has also taught at the graduate level and in Liberia, Africa.
Peter is a consistent presenter at the annual Wisconsin Mathematics Conference, is the author of the book, “Mumbo Jumbo & Banana Peppers: Heartfelt Classroom Teaching & Creative Math Instruction,” and founded the non-profit organization, Imaginaction. He has a BBA from UW-Eau Claire and master’s of teaching from Cardinal Stritch University. He believes in a classroom full of heart, challenge, fun and creative learning.
