Peggy Williams Smith
Peggy Williams-Smith has been with Marcus Hotels & Resorts for nearly 20 years and has held leadership positions at the Hilton Milwaukee, The Pfister Hotel, Brynwood Country Club and the corporate office. Before taking on her current role as senior vice president, Marcus Hotels and SafeHouse Restaurants, she oversaw food and beverage.
In that role, she oversaw all aspects of food and beverage for their growing portfolio of first-class hotels and restaurants. In her new role, she will spearhead the recently acquired SafeHouse brand and is tasked with growing that brand throughout the continental U.S. She also sits on the Senior Leadership Team for the hotel division that gives strategic guidance and direction on operational decisions for the company.
Peggy is the 2016 citywide co-chair for the United Performing Arts Fund. She is a past president of Tempo Milwaukee, current chair of the board for the American Heart Association of Southeastern WI, a steering committee member for Milwaukee Women Inc. and sits on the boards of the MATC Foundation and Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation. She is currently the honorary chair for the UWM Women Leaders Conference and has co-chaired the 2011 Best Buddies Leadership Event and the 2012 Go Red for Women Luncheon. She also participates in committee work for many other nonprofit organizations such as Junior Achievement of Wisconsin and United Way.
She has led the Marcus Hotels and Resorts company-wide campaign for the United Performing Arts Fund. She was honored in 2010 as one of Milwaukee’s 40 under 40 presented by the Business Journal and was awarded the Peak Performer Award in 2013 from Junior Achievement. She resides in downtown Milwaukee with her husband Tim Smith, who is the general manager of the Pfister Hotel.
