Nancy Carey is a musician and educator who conducts research in the field of Ethnomusicology. Her research focus is the relationship between Cajun song traditions and the sustainability of Louisiana’s francophone culture. She was selected as a presenter at the Society for Ethnomusicology’s international meeting in 2018, and taught a module course in Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in 2019 which explored the lineage of Acadian and Cajun music traditions. Dr. Carey holds a Master of Music degree from Louisiana State University and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from University of Memphis. She is currently Visiting Assistant Professor of Music at University of Louisiana-Monroe.
