Nancy Backes, Ph.D.
Dr. Nancy Backes is a retired professor and former chair of the English Department at Cardinal Stritch University, where she taught a variety of literature and writing courses. Her particular teaching and research specialties involve marginalized populations. (She taught an Osher course last fall on Nella Larsen’s Passing.) She currently serves on the Executive Committee of Modern Language Association’s Age Studies Forum and also works as a dramaturge for local theater.
