Meredith Watts
Meredith W. Watts professor emeritus of political science at UWM, has been researching and photographing northeast Brazil for more than a decade. He has had visiting professorships in Israel, Germany, London, and various universities in the United States. He has a specialization in political behavior, German and European politics, and research methodology. Since 2005, his research and photography have focused on Northeast Brazil on festival cultures predominant in the area (Maranhão). Meredith is also active in “For Good” Photography, a nonprofit photography group committed to working with other nonprofits, and works with social justice with marginalized groups.
