Marika Kovacs-Houlihan

Marika Kovacs-Houlihan, M.Ed., is a Director for the ASL Connect at the Gallaudet University, Washington DC. Her valuable attributes are her theatrical experiences and her passion in ASL Literature. Her master’s research topic was ASL Cinematic and how to use this as a teaching tool. She has presented numerous presentations since 2008 mainly related to ASL Cinematic and Depiction as ASL set skill to local and national conferences. Marika also co-presented with colleagues on ASL Programs/Curriculums in the post-secondary level such as social justice and humanity relationships between Deaf and interpreters. Her passion also educates about the ideology of deaf and how to reframe the mind-set of phonocentric that has been grained in society for so long.
