Margaret Naczek completed her undergraduate degree in Polish language and journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017, but her passion for Polish language and culture started much earlier. She began Polish folk dancing with Syrenka Children’s Polish Folk Dance Ensemble of Milwaukee at the age of 5. She has continued with the organization since then and is currently the Syrenka children’s instructor. She currently is a dancer with the adult ensemble Syrena. Margaret, a dual citizen of the United States and Poland, has studied Polish language at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin-Madison as well as the Catholic University of Lublin and Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Her passion for Polish folk culture, rooted in her own family traditions, has shaped her upbringing and her dream to teach others more about Polish culture through language, song and dance.
