Linda Sue Schwarz
Linda Sue Schwarz is serving a four-month detail (March-June 2019) as the deputy medical center director for the Milwaukee VA Medical Center and has served as the chief engineer/facility management division manager since January 2014. She has worked at the Milwaukee VA since July 2009 in Facility Management, starting as a project manager overseeing major construction remodeling projects for the operating rooms, patient care wards, sterile processing and various other systems. Prior to working at the Milwaukee VA, Ms. Schwarz designed mechanical systems for commercial, educational, recreational and industrial facilities across the U.S. and in the Milwaukee area including Miller Park. She served in the U.S. Army Reserves for over 27 years retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. She served in various positions as an engineer officer in the U.S. and overseas with deployments to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Panama and Afghanistan. She is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College. Her educational background includes Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineer, a Bachelor of Science in fire safety and engineering technology from the University of Cincinnati, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Ms. Schwarz is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Wisconsin, a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager, and certified in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, LEED®AP.
