Laila Hick, FLMI, CRCP

In March 2017 Laila was named Vice President-Transformation – Distribution Performance and Development for Northwestern Mutual. In this role she is accountable to assuring the business outcomes are realized of significant organization and business changes impacting sales organization and the distribution management function.

Laila joined Northwestern Mutual in 1997 as a Customer Service Representative. She joined Compliance/ Best Practices in 1999 where over three years she had increasing accountabilities that included the expansion of NMIS, the wholly-owned subsidiary broker/dealer for Northwestern Mutual.

Laila was promoted to Assistant Director and then Director and was accountable for the overall sales force supervision system design and build. Additionally she was responsible for business development and administration of NMIS Ins Agency, the handling of sales force conflicts and the overall development and administration of distribution policies.

In 2011 as Vice President – Agency Development, Laila had overall responsibility for the design, processes and administration of sales force performance management, and the processes and support to transition sales office leaders. In 2016, her duties expanded to include oversight of the new sales representative contracting function and development systems.

Laila holds a B.A. degree in Political Science and French from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, where she achieved an Honors Diploma and Phi Beta Kappa. She holds an M.A. from Marquette University in Dispute Resolution. Laila is a Fellow of Life Management Institute (FLMI). She received the Certified Compliance Regulatory Professional designation through the FINRA Institute at the Wharton School and is S6, 26, 7, 24 and 66 qualified.

Laila has two children – Anneliese (13) and Griffin (12) and lives in Wauwatosa.
