Kathy Ortiz

After Kathy Ortiz retired in July of 2014, she immediately joined Osher Lifelong Learning. She has said that it has been a wonderful learning experience. Whether she attends an Osher Talk, a Short Course, or a Go Explore trip, she always walks away knowing something she never knew before.

Soon after signing up as a new member, she decided to volunteer and now serves on the Core Programming Committee. She is currently the Secretary, but serves on several sub-committees. One that has been very gratifying to her is being a facilitator. If she signs up to attend, it’s her pleasure to introduce presenters at SCE or Hefter, or take attendance and keep a day trip on schedule.

Also, back in 2014 Osher had approximately 700 members and has grown to over 1800 and the offerings are only increasing. If you feel it’s time to give back to a wonderful organization, why not try facilitating? Kathy would love to see you at the next training session; she will be the instructor.
