Karyn Frick , Ph.D.
Dr. Karyn Frick is a professor in the neuroscience area of the Department of Psychology at UWM. She earned her BA at Franklin and Marshall College and her MA and PhD degrees at the Johns Hopkins University. After 10 years on the psychology faculty at Yale University, she was recruited to UWM in 2010. She studies how memories are formed to enable the development of more effective treatments for reducing memory loss in aging and Alzheimer’s disease. Much of her recent work focuses on identifying neural mechanisms through which estrogens regulate memory formation in mouse models of aging and Alzheimer’s.
