Karen Philips, M.S.

Karen Philips has worked in the early care and education field for more than 30 years. She began her career at the UWM Children’s Center while attending UWM in the ’80s. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in African American Studies, and a master’s in educational psychology with a concentration in community counseling. Over the past several years she has earned four Registry Credentials.

She believes it is the responsibility of professionals to become lifelong learners so they can provide the best quality care to the children and families they serve. Currently, she is the administrator of a large group center on Milwaukee’s northwest side. The center is owned and operated by her family and is licensed for 109 children.
