Karen Koyama graduated from the University of Missouri – Kansas City with a bachelor’s of liberal arts in 1999. She started teaching in 1995 at the Glendora, CA Recreation Department. Her students range from age 5 to adults. A believer that teachers affect their students far beyond the classroom, she has prepared her students for a lifelong pursuit of excellence in music and in life.
Karen is an accomplished pianist, and has been asked to perform for the California State Music Convention twice. She is currently a member of the McDowell Music Club and the Music Teacher’s National Association.
Karen has two children, is extremely active with their school and always helps out with classroom activities and field trips whenever she can. Currently, Karen teaches piano at Beloit College. She also gives private lessons at the White House School of Music in Waukesha and has a very active private practice teaching piano in her home studio.
