Jill Rothenbueler-Maher grew up jogging, biking and cross-country skiing with her family in southeast Wisconsin. She often went with her parents and sister to nearby Calhoun Park in New Berlin or the Kettle Moraine State Forest Southern Unit. After moving to Washington, D.C., she enjoyed the Washington & Old Dominion Trail and logged countless hours training for duathlon (bicycling and running) races. Back in Milwaukee, she enjoys sunrise runs and Saturday rides with friends on the Oak Leaf Trail. She regularly writes for the Bay View Compass newspaper and has degrees from the University of Minnesota and Georgetown University. She has 20 years of experience in communications roles in corporations and other large organizations. “Milwaukee County’s Oak Leaf Trail: A History” is her first book.
