Jay Miller has been a tax attorney for over 40 years, many of them spent at Northwestern Mutual, as well as an adjunct professor in UWM’s Lubar School of Business. Miller has an abiding interest in William Faulkner, whom he like many others consider to be America’s greatest novelist. Miller has read and reread almost all of Faulkner’s works, several biographies and a transcript of the lectures he gave at the University of Virginia late in his life. Also, Miller attended one of the all-week Faulkner conferences which are held every summer in Oxford, Mississippi, his hometown. Miller feels like he knows this man.
