Ann Knabe, Ph.D., is a public relations and crisis communication expert with 25 years of experience in the government, nonprofit and private sectors. Ann believes stakeholders’ trust is your most important business asset, and will help you protect or rebuild that trust through strategic, research-based communication that puts you in control of your image.
Ann is a graduate of Marquette University, where she earned an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in social psychology, distance learning and public relations. She also holds a master’s degree in mass communication from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, a master’s degree in national security and resource strategy from National Defense University, and bachelor’s degree in public relations and communication and rhetorical studies from Marquette University.
As a colonel in the Air Force Reserve, Ann has served in public affairs and communication leadership positions around the world, most recently at the Pentagon and National Defense University in Washington, D.C. In her civilian job, she teaches public relations at UW–Whitewater and runs a crisis communication consulting firm in Milwaukee. She is Accredited in Public Relations (APR) by the University Accreditation Board, with a specialty in military communications.
