Erick Shambarger is the director of environmental sustainability at the City of Milwaukee, where he leads the Environmental Collaboration Office (ECO). ECO was created by Mayor Tom Barrett to develop practical solutions that benefit Milwaukee’s environment and economy. Mr. Shambarger oversees all ECO programs in energy efficiency, renewable energy and urban land restoration as well as the ReFresh Milwaukee sustainability plan. He has developed and advanced policies to promote innovative storm water management practices and green infrastructure. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University (2000), a Master of Public Affairs degree and a certificate in Energy Analysis and Policy from the University of Wisconsin, and a certificate in Water Technology from UWM.
