Elizabeth Thelen, M.S.

Elizabeth is a founding team member of The Water Council. Currently she is known as the “BREW Master” as Director of the water technology accelerator called the BREW (Business. Research. Entrepreneurship. In Wisconsin.) She is also leading the Pilot Deployment Project for demonstration sites focused on any new water technology and the Water Council’s Talent Education committee whose goal is to “Build the Water Generation K to Grey!”
Elizabeth has led, supported and driven business goals for over 20 years. Specifically, she focuses on creating vision, enthusiasm and results. Learning, linking, and leveraging is what needs to happen in regional economic development and in private business.
As a director, network builder, coach, facilitator or whatever title you give Elizabeth, she brings energy and optimism to all her projects. She has a core philosophy of asking people to take action and using influence strategies to get real behavioral change. She uses reliable tools from advanced manufacturing – pull systems, supply chain management, engineering, and more to drive results.
Working with numerous industries, professional service firms’, non-profits and advanced manufacturing, is part of the breadth of experience Elizabeth brings to her clients projects’. She has real experience in the trenches supervising others, starting her own business and leading businesses through change.
Elizabeth began her professional career at Human Resources Development Center, a Wilson Learning Agency and owned by Humber, Mundie & McClary. She started as intern, left as President to start her business Be! She has a Master’s Degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and numerous certifications in numerous business and leadership courses – these include Vital Smart’s Influencer and Crucial Conversations programs.
Her philosophy is to meet people where they are at and bring alignment and with their goals and what the person says they are going to do; as a result, peace with who you are. Engaging and energetic are 2 words often used to describe Elizabeth’s style. She puts people at ease and inspires action
