Debbie Knepke

For the last two decades, Debbie Knepke has worked in the Milwaukee nonprofit sector with a focus on increasing effective volunteer engagement.

From 2006 to 2017 Debbie held a leadership position at the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee linking volunteers with meaningful and impactful opportunities. Working with more than 400 nonprofit organizations and more than 100 members of the Greater Milwaukee Business Volunteer Council fueled her belief that community service, social consciousness and good corporate citizenship make for stronger employees, stronger businesses and stronger communities.

Debbie was also in charge of national partnerships with the Points of Light Institute and Hands On Network Corporate Volunteer Council network. Locally, she recruited more than 1,200 volunteers for Milwaukee’s annual Make A Difference Day and more than 12,000 shoppers for the annual Holiday Giving Tree.

In 2018 Debbie joined Revitalize Milwaukee. As the director of transformation she is committed to Milwaukee’s vibrancy by transforming neighborhoods, block by block, home by home. This position includes development, events and marketing with a focus on promoting volunteering and overseeing the signature annual Block Build MKE rehabbing 30 homes in two days.

As a community volunteer, Debbie serves on several nonprofit committees and is an active volunteer in her congregation, neighborhood and children’s school.
