Carrie Sullivan has been working in the education field for 15 years. She has taught her entire career in Milwaukee Public Schools. Fourteen of those years were at Hartford University School located on the UWM campus, where she taught K5 and first grade. This past fall she transferred to Milwaukee Parkside School in Bayview and is teaching K5. Carrie earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at UWM and went on to earn her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction in 2009 while teaching. Carrie also works at UWM as an adjunct instructor for the early childhood education department to share her craft with future educators.
She believes that by teaching at the college level she keeps all of her teaching practices current which helps her in her own kindergarten classroom. It also provides a relevant education for her adult students because she is able to share stories and experiences for a current classroom teacher. Teaching truly is Carrie’s passion.
