Carol Howard, MS
Carol Howard completed her second year as Director of Fostering Futures in April 2018. She brings 20 years of experience in child development, primarily serving young children and families through Head Start and Early Head Start to this work. Carol’s background and education include a degree in Bilingual Education from Boston University. She started her career as a bilingual special needs teacher in the Boston Public Schools. Carol’s work with the Fostering Futures Learning Community focuses on implementing trauma-informed organizational change. In her role, she works to support coaches and organizational leaders as change agents. She facilitates the learning community through training, technical assistance and building connections within and across organizations working to improve the wellbeing of their workforce and the communities they serve. She also serves as the liaison between participants in the learning community and Fostering Futures’ ongoing external evaluation.
In addition to her degree in Bilingual Education, Carol studied program evaluation at Tufts University and completed the Graduate Infant-Toddler Credential from Erikson Institute. She is trained as a trainer in the Program for Infant and Toddler Caregivers and The Brazelton Touchpoints approach to supporting parent-child relationships.
