Aya Fayed is an Arabic Lecturer at the University of Kansas. She earned her master’s degree in African and African American Studies and a graduate certificate in Women, Gender and Sexuality from KU, and holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Translation from Pharos University in Alexandria, Egypt. Aya has extensive experience teaching both English and Arabic in Egypt and the United States, including her role as a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant and cultural ambassador in the United States. Alongside her teaching, her research examines gender-based violence, particularly how media and legal systems shape public perceptions of women.
