Human Services

Human service professions run the gamut from social work to criminal justice. But all the individuals working within these fields have one thing in common — they all strive to help people. Their goal is to meet human needs by focusing on prevention, remediation of problems and improving the quality of life of service populations.

UWM’s School of Continuing Education offers a variety of programs, including family mediation, trauma counseling, AODA clinical supervision and general courses. Plus, you can obtain certificates in trauma counseling, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and family mediation. When you sign up for courses, you’re increasing your value in the workplace and gaining relevant skills that you can apply right now on the job.

With so many human services courses to choose from, including online options, it’s easy to earn continuing education (CE), continuing education units (CEUs), continuing education hours (CEHs) and fulfill the requirements for licensure renewal.

It is a privilege to be able to help others and the community. The School of Continuing Education is here to help support you every step of the way.
