Youth Engagement Practice Certificate Program
Youth Engagement Practice Certificate Program is a noncredit training program offered by UWM’s School of Continuing Education for those who work within various youth-serving agencies with an emphasis on residential, group home, foster, kinship and shelter care youth work professionals.
The Youth Engagement Practice Certificate Program training is a 25-hour entry-level program in line with the state of Wisconsin Regulatory Standards with a focus on engaging youth.
Who Should Attend
Residential, group home, foster and shelter care professionals, youth workers, community-based organizations, schools, teachers, mentors, etc.

Access to Course Site
Look for an email approximately one week prior to the course start date with instructions on setting up your username and password and how to access the online course site.
This is an instructor-facilitated, asynchronous (self-paced) online course. You are required to have regular access to a computer with the internet (a high-speed connection such as DSL or cable modem is highly recommended). You are also required to have a recent version of Microsoft Office Suite or comparable program to include Microsoft Word (word processing), Excel (spreadsheets) and PowerPoint (presentations) in order to both view and potentially create documents needed to participate in this course.
Each week you receive readings and assignments to complete. Each week you are expected to log in and complete assignments within the deadlines given in order to be awarded CEUs and the certificate of completion. However, within the deadlines, you can complete the readings and assignments at your leisure.
Certificates of completion are mailed within two weeks after the last day of class.
