WiSE Breakfast – Coaching or Correcting: Knowing the Best Way to Guide – May 2, 2019

When something does not go right or a peer or subordinate does not perform up to expectations or standards, the situation needs to be addressed to allow for a correction. How to address the situation to allow for a positive outcome will not be the same for each person even if what needs to be changed is the same. In order to know if more coaching or correcting is needed, you need to understand the person. Each person, based on experiences and personality, will respond differently so customizing the conversation is needed.
