Week of Learning 2019: Understanding World Religions

October 14-18, 2019

Spend a week in the Chicago area for an in-depth exploration of some of the world’s major religions. Each day, enjoy a combination of informative lectures, visits to places of worship and lunch at restaurants that serve cuisine from cultures closely associated with the religious traditions we will examine. Experience Hinduism, the world’s oldest organized religion. Survey the oldest monotheistic religion, Judaism, during the celebration of Sukkot. Explore Islam, its five pillars of belief, the importance of the Quran and the differences between Sunni and Shia. Discover the beauty and serenity of Buddhism. The week concludes with a visit to the Baha’I Temple in Evanston. This program includes motor coach transportation, breakfast and lunch every day, and four nights of hotel accommodations.
