Polar Transit of USS Nautilus
The Nautilus was a record-breaking vessel. She was powered by a new energy source (nuclear) which made her the first true submersible. Her operations obviated existing anti-submarine warfare techniques. The transit is an amazing story of engineering excellence and courage.
