Peter Taylor: Master Storyteller

Join us for a reading and discussion of Taylor’s short story masterpiece, “The Old Forest,” and the novel for which he was awarded the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, “A Summons to Memphis.” Robert Penn Warren said that Taylor was one of the “real, and probably enduring masters of the short story.” Taylor, who died in 1994, primarily wrote about Upper South gentry living during the early and mid-20th century, the setting for the two works discussed.
