Moral Injury and Working with Veterans

One-Hour Webinar

Moral injury occurs when individuals are exposed to situations in which their moral values are violated, whether it be by their own actions or others. We know that moral injury can create longstanding, distressing and impactful experiences ranging from depression to substance use to PTSD and other functioning problems. This webinar will focus on defining moral injury, specifically with veterans, and explore an intervention used to work with the moral injury.

During this one-hour webinar, Jennifer will walk you through moral injury and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as in intervention designed to address a broad range of clinical concerns. ACT focuses on improving functioning quality by helping individuals pursue values-based behaviors in the face of emotional pain.

Over the last decade, moral injury has captured the attention of mental health care providers, spiritual and faith communities, media outlets and the general public. We are now seeing more scientific research on moral injury, which is very encouraging. By attending this webinar, you can discover how to help veterans and others who may be suffering from this type of trauma.

Jennifer represents Rogers Behavioral Health and the Fire Watch program. Read the blog from Rogers Behavioral Health on how moral injury impacts mental health.
