Transatlantic Slave Trade Impact on Africa

From the 1400s to the 1800s, many societies in Africa faced the constant threat of warfare, raids and kidnapping due to the continuous presence of slave traders from Europe and the Americas along the Atlantic coastline of the continent. This talk will explain how the transatlantic slave trade transformed Africa’s political landscape as Africans responded to new challenges and opportunities presented by the mass trafficking of captive people from Africa to the Americas.
