De-stigmatizing Work With LGBTQ People: An Exploratory Journey to Allyship
This course is designed to provide essential multicultural and intersectional information related to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and more (LGBTQQIP2SAA) populations in the United States. It includes an exploration of demographic characteristics and the sociopolitical history of LGBTQQIP2SAA communities and their influence. Together, participants will explore the LGBTQQIP2SAA acronym to understand the significance of each construct. We will employ stigma theory to better conceptualize the experiences of this disenfranchised community. After reviewing local community resources for LGBTQ people, participants will have time to create a plan of allyship to support this community.
