Commemorating Genocide in Rwanda

Join Dr. Dan Haumschild as he commemorates the 27th anniversary of the start of genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. His talk introduces the events that transpired in 1994 and provides insights about the aftermath of this horrific event. He considers what it means to commemorate violence in various contexts – both in the space where it occurred and in spaces far removed. Discuss the meaning and importance of commemorating mass atrocities in our time.
