An Opthalmologist Views Art

This talk concerns the relationship between works of art (mostly paintings) and vision. The first part of the talk provides basic information on the visual system and then continues with a discussion of the neurophysiology of vision as it relates to art, for example the influence of color and perspective. The second part of the talk covers eye diseases of several famous artists and speculates on how that disease may have affected the artist’s work.
