The 2020 Democratic National Convention (DNC) takes place in Milwaukee July 13-16. More than 50,000 people are expected to travel to Milwaukee for the convention, including delegates, media, volunteers and tourists. Urban Planning professor and chair Ivy Hu and associate professor of architecture Kyle Reynolds are featured experts on the university’s DNC 2020 media list. Hu is available to talk with reporters about how to address traffic and transportation concerns for large-scale, one-time events. Reynolds can talk about the design of Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum, where the convention will be held, as well as the unique characteristics of the commercial and residential area surrounding the arena. Reynolds can also speak about the history of the yellow, cream-colored bricks common in the Milwaukee area that give southeastern Wisconsin a distinctive look.
