Time and Place

Milwaukee Film Festival’s special topic panel will be hosted by the film festival as part of its Public Forums series, a program of free and open to the public panels and conversations that engage community members, festival audiences, and guests to discuss themes and issues that emerge from our festival films.

If recent years are any indication, suburban growth is a thing of the past. The new focus is on America’s urban core and the public spaces within those cities. “Revitalizing City Spaces Through Art and Design” will talk about how contemporary street art, architecture, “creative placemaking,” and collaborative educational workshops have become key factors in this revitalization effort, and the possibilities and consequences that come with it.
