Lecture Summary
The emergence of building typology theory since Quatremère de Quincy is examined with attention focused on its contribution to form and space-making in architecture. The pedagogical role of building typology conveyed in Prof Weber’s teaching through his seminal studio in “Building Morphology” at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is assessed, as is its contemporary relevance for professional practice as manifested in selected works of HWA.
