‘Metropolis’ treks to Racine for Johnsen Schmaling’s latest

Metropolis Magazine was in Racine recently to visit the new OS Projects building by Fitzhugh Scott Distinguished Professor(s) in Practice and M.Arch alums Brian Johnsen and Sebastian Schmaling. Visit the magazine for a  full writeup on this “can’t miss” addition to Racine’s South Sixth Street. Among the project’s most distinctive features, according to the magazine’s Zach Mortice, are its expansive windows, bronze panels, second-story louvers and sharp cantilever. Gallery occupant and painter Vera Scekic enjoys the 30-foot built-in table also designed by the architects, who established their eponymous firm in 2003. Johnsen Schmaling’s award winning designs have been featured in more than a dozen industry publications and major newspapers in addition to Metropolis Magazine.
