Alexa Wojciechowicz (MArch 2016) and Efrain Cano (2016 MArch) have been awarded the first place Benn Johnck award in this year’s AIA Chicago student competition.Their collaborative project titled “The Architecture of Cooperation” was their graduate thesis project developed with committee members Kyle Reynolds, Jim Shields, and Sebastian Schmaling. It was selected from a pool of 30 projects from six schools: Illinois Institute of Technology, School of the Art Institute, University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Washington University in St. Louis, and UWM. Alexa and Efrain will be recognized at the AIA Chicago annual meeting in December.
