Masks – Students, employees, and visitors must wear masks indoors when sharing a room or in a common area.

Testing – UWM will require weekly testing of unvaccinated faculty, staff, and students who are not 100% online. The mandatory testing will continue through at least Sept. 30 as conditions warrant. Schedule a test here. Students and employees who are fully vaccinated can get an exemption from the testing requirement by completing this form.

An overview of the resources SARUP has to offer students, such as portfolio and interview days, the Resource center, the Photo Lab, and Computer Lab. Along with discussing systems to archive files in a system that sets a portfolio up for success and offers a way to organized.

Prof. Talbott leads a tour of Drexel Town Center in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The tour focuses on the pros and cons of the “Big Developer” approach to a town center. We will analyze the successful and unsuccessful aspects of Drexel’s urban design. We will examine the relationship between the town center and the adjacent light industrial park and nature preserve. The tour begins in from of Oak Creek City Hall, by the clock tower. We depart from there at 2:30 PM.

Please join Assistant Professor and LEC Teaching Fellow Trudy Watt for a 90-minute workshop exploring Applied Compassion as a basis for taking altruistic action in architecture. Part I in the series will explore key concepts of awareness and presence through discussion and real-time practice.

This event is being offered as a part of the Vulnerability Studio. Part II of the workshop series will take place in October. Watch this space for details!

Trudy developed this workshop series with the generous support of the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center’s Curriculum Innovation Grant and the Kellner Entrepreneurship Fellowship, which made participation in the Stanford Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education affiliated Applied Compassion Training possible this year. We are kicking off our first event of the season with an informal conversation with Michelle Grabner, co-curator of Sculpture MKE, while walking part of the Sculpture MKE route in Downtown Milwaukee. Michelle will discuss her leadership role for Sculpture MKE, its impact on Milwaukee, and her previous roles such as the Guggenheim Fellowship, and curator at the Whitney Biennial. (This will NOT be a tour of the sculptures.)Feel free to meet us at any point along our route.
