BIO

Samuel Schultz is the Community Development Director of the Village of Mount Pleasant, where he directs planning, building inspection, parks and recreation, and community engagement staff. He also manages the Village’s economic development, public transportation, and assessment contract services. During his time as Community Development Director, he has helped implement one of Wisconsin’s most progressive zoning ordinances, permitted hundreds of millions of dollars of development, and had the pleasure working with many other leaders in their respective municipal fields.

A UWM Master of Urban Planning graduate with an undergraduate degree in biology, he values systematic approaches to urban planning where public policy is guided by simple, logical, and practical solutions. He serves on Whitefish Bay’s Architectural Review Commission and as the current president of the UWM Urban Planning Alumni Association.
