Momentum in the Harbor District: Moving from Planning to Implementation” presentation by Dan Adams, Planning Director, Harbor District, Inc.

Lecture Summary

Harbor District, Inc. and the City of Milwaukee completed a planning process for the neighborhood surrounding Milwaukee’s industrial waterfront in 2017. The Harbor District Water and Land Use Plan (WaLUP) was adopted by the Common Council in early 2018. Harbor District, Inc. and its many partners are now focusing on implementing the plan’s recommendations to redefine Milwaukee’s working waterfront for the 21st century.

This talk will give a brief overview of the WaLUP and then focus on the projects underway or anticipated for the near future. The discussion will include public infrastructure, real estate development, habitat projects, stormwater management, and more. For background information on Harbor District, Inc. visit harbordistrict.org.
