Green RoofThe UWM Sandburg Green Roof was built during the summer of 2008 and is the largest green roof in the state of Wisconsin, measuring at 33,000 square feet!

It uses:

  • 441 cubic yards of engineered soil
  • 700 lbs sedum cuttings
  • 400 June grass plugs
  • 1000 poverty oat plugs
  • 1000 hairy gramma plugs

The Sandburg Halls Green Roof provides residents, students, visitors, and Milwaukee wildlife with an environmentally friendly habitat.
