Purpose<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of this page is to explain the Camps and Clinics Blanket Accident Insurance Program and the procedures which campus coordinators should follow when using this program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a1\">II. Background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Camps and clinics insurance is purchased by UW System Risk Management to reduce the potential for liability claims arising out of injuries which occur at the various campus sponsored camps and clinics. This is not a substitute for liability insurance but rather provides \u201cgoodwill coverage\u201d for small medical bills incurred by camp participants.&nbsp;<strong>These medical expenses must be the result of a covered accident; this is not an illness policy.<\/strong>&nbsp;The policy gives us the ability to pay the medical expenses of camp participants covered under the policy without being negligent, thus reducing the number of claims and suits from participants and their parents.&nbsp;<strong>Coverage is primary to State liability insurance and the camper\u2019s personal insurance for covered medical expenses up to $10,000 per student, but is intended to target injuries incurred related to camp activities.<\/strong>&nbsp;It is not meant to cover a student with allergies or a student who is playing with a pocket knife. Coverage can be provided for camps and clinics based on the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Camps and clinics must be sponsored by UWM and open to the public.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Premium must be included as part of the registration fee or paid as a gift or grant authorized for this purpose.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only camps and clinics which are oriented toward people who are high school age and younger will be covered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These are only guidelines to help determine eligibility for the program. The insurance afforded by the listed policy(ies) is subject to all the terms, exclusions and conditions of such policy(ies).<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">3rd Party Camps<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-youth-third-party-insurance-requirements\">Youth Third Party Insurance Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Standard Limits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Workers Compensation (WC) for third party\u2019s employees:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meet WI Statutory Requirement Limits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commercial Comprehensive General Liability (CGL):\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Commercial General Liability Insurance-minimum limits required:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each Occurrence: $1,000,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>General Aggregate: $2,000,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sexual Abuse\/Molestation Liability:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each Occurrence: $1,000,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>General Aggregate: $2,000,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Automobile Liability:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Combined Single Limit: $1,000,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Products-Completed Operations Aggregate: $1,000,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contractual Liability: $1,000,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personal &amp; Advertising Injury: $1,000,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Damage to Rented Premises: $100,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the Commercial General Liability Insurance Policy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Should be written on an occurrence basis, or if claims-made coverage is provided, coverage must be maintained for a minimum of five (5) years after the termination the program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must cover all activities to be performed by the external party, including athletic\/physical activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must not contain any exclusion for intentional acts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must not contain any exclusion for abuse from sexual, emotional or physical actions and\/or misconduct. If such exclusions are included, separate coverage must be purchased and evidenced.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall be provided by a carrier with a minimum A.M. Best rating of A-.<br>All insurance required Workers Compensation, shall contain a waiver of subrogation in favor of \u201cBoard of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System, its officers, employees, and agents.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall be primary and noncontributory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-additional-requirements\">Additional Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The third party shall deliver certificates of insurance evidencing the above coverage and applicable renewals thereof by May 1st of the year in which the program is scheduled at the UW System institution. The certificate of insurance shall name the \u201cBoard of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System, its officers, employees, and agents\u201d as Additional Insured on their Commercial General Liability and Automobile Liability policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each policy shall be endorsed to provide that the policy is not canceled, non-renewed, changed or allowed to lapse for any reason without sixty (60) days of written notice to the UW System institution. In the event of non-renewal, cancellation, or expiration, the contractor shall provide the University evidence of the new source(s) of required insurance within twenty-one (21) calendar days after the University\u2019s receipt of the sixty (60) day notice. Failure to maintain the required insurance in force provides the University the right to cancel and terminate the contract without notice. Due to the nature of some activities, UW System institutions reserves the right to require additional limits of liability coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-participant-medical-and-accident-insurance-for-third-party-programs\">Participant Medical and Accident Insurance for Third Party Programs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Accident insurance coverage for program participants is required. This coverage shall be equivalent to UWSA\u2019s Camps and Clinics Accident insurance.
