MKE Portal is a phone based application designed to get the community active in their city. By allowing them to discover new things and play games the app helps them by pushing them to areas of the city that they might not know about or have previously thought may be boring. The app as two main parts, the first is the WHAT’S NEW page. Here the user can see everything that is happening that day or in the near future. The second part is the challenges. This part of the app has the user answer riddles and puzzles, but the only way to complete the task is for the user to go out and take a picture of that area. Once the user has done so, they will be rewarded with points, these points can be used for discounts, merchandise and other things. The app also has things like map tagging, here users can tag cool places around the city and see what others have tagged. We also have a calendar, user page, among other app essentials. The app is based loosely on the colors from the Milwaukee peoples flag. We wanted to reflect Milwaukee without mimicking the flag. The app is simple and easy to use while still allowing for the user to expanded and explore much more.
