Description

This project was design to bring awareness to the environmental and biological impacts that cigarette butt waste has the soil and waterways they end up in. The idea is to have the smoker think deeper into the full life cycle of a cigarette butt and all of the toxins in contains and what happens when they are no properly disposed of. Inspiration came locally from living in Milwaukee and seeing this be a major issue around bus stops, bars, and parks. Photography is taken from the Oak Leaf bicycle trail here in Milwaukee also.

Research Question

Can installation art bring awareness to and encourage people to not litter cigarette butts?
