Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Evidence-based Technology Integration (ETI) training program was an innovative multidisciplinary technology training program designed to address the shortage of highly trained and qualified technology service personnel.\u00a0 ETI provided participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to better utilize assistive technology, instructive technology, and universal design for learning to promote the utilization of technology-based interventions to engender better outcomes for individuals with disability.<\/p>\n

Objectives<\/h2>\n

The objective of the ETI training program was to generate highly qualified related service personnel specially trained to utilize technology interventions on children with low incidence disabilities.<\/p>\n

Methods<\/h2>\n

The ETI training program recruited and trained occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology students who were committed to working in low-performing schools to select, implement, and evaluate technology interventions for children with disabilities.\u00a0 The program consisted of two levels of training.\u00a0 The first level provided scholars with assistive technology awareness level skills.\u00a0 The second level promoted advanced skills relating to the integration of technology interventions.\u00a0 Students participating in the program committed to a 2-year full-time employment payback working in school-based related services for children with disabilities and received a monetary compensation between $8,000 and $16,000.<\/p>\n

Impact<\/h2>\n

The ETI training program generated __ professionals in [list professions: e.g. ot, pt, slp].<\/p>\n
