Exploring the impact of Mutual Aid on Health and Well-Being of Transgender, Nonbinary, and Gender Diverse People<\/span><\/p>\n

Structural oppression and system failures have resulted in the need for community-driven interventions that address the multiple socio-structural causes of health inequities among transgender and gender diverse populations. Mutual aid initiatives are an effective strategy that build mobilization, create community, and meet people\u2019s immediate health care needs. A defining characteristic of mutual aid is the awareness that the systems and structures in place, such as the health care system, are unable to meet these needs and have often created additional needs. Come to learn about mutual aid and our community-based participatory research study that has evaluated the impact of mutual aid on gender-affirming health care for transgender, nonbinary, and gender diverse people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Join us in a forum to hear the latest in the research and practice of public health to support a just, equitable, healthy future for people, communities, and the environment in Milwaukee, the state of Wisconsin, and beyond.<\/p>\n
