Email&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:fitwell@uwm.edu\">fit-well@uwm.edu<\/a>&nbsp;if you would like a copy of a previous FitWell course syllabus.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">When should I register for a UWM FitWell course\/class?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p><strong>Save your seat!<\/strong> We encourage you to register as early as possible to guarantee a spot. Register at least 3-4 weeks before the start of classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Courses may be added through the first days of the session \u2013 late add dates vary.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">How do I register for a UWM FitWell course\/class?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/uwmpaws\">Register in PAWS<\/a>. Select \u201cFITWELL\u201d under the Subject. Type the Class Title under Keywords. Select the specific Semester. <br>Type in the course code (FITWELL), select the section that works best for you, and add it to your plan.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Do UWM FitWell course credits count toward my GPA?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>FitWell courses count toward undergraduate general elective credits and your UW-Milwaukee GPA. Usually, you can add a full or half-semester course at&nbsp;<em>no additional tuition cost<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/finances\/finances\/estimating-your-costs\/tuition\/\">if total credits are 12-18<\/a>).<br><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Can I take UWM FitWell course at no extra cost?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>Undergraduates can add a full or half-semester class at&nbsp;<em>no additional tuition cost*<\/em>&nbsp;(<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/onestop\/finances\/estimating-your-costs\/tuition\/\">if total credits are 12-18<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">How many weeks does a UWM FitWell course run?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Full semester<\/strong>&nbsp;courses are offered in Fall and Spring. <br>Semesters are 16 weeks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Half semester<\/strong>&nbsp;courses are offered each Fall and Spring semesters in 7- or 8-week sessions.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Early (beginning of the semester)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Midterm (middle of the semester)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UWinteriM is 2 weeks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Summer semester is 8 weeks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Which UWM FitWell courses are offered this semester?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>Get the most up-to-date information (day, time, location and instructor) in the UW-Milwaukee <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/uwmclasssearch\">Schedule of Classes (SOC). <\/a>Select the semester and select \u201cFITWELL\u201d under Any Subject.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Where are UWM FitWell courses held?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>FitWell Courses are held on campus, near campus and off campus at a variety of locations. Some courses offer online or hybrid learning. <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/publichealth\/fitwell-courses\/locations\/\">See Locations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Online &#8211; Synchronous vs. Asynchronous vs. Hybrid &#8211; How do these course work?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>Synchronous Online learning refers to instructors and students gathering at the same time and interacting in &#8220;real-time.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asynchronous Online learning refers to students accessing materials at their own pace and interacting with each other over extended periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hybrid or &#8220;blended&#8221; describes courses that combine face-to-face classroom instruction with online learning.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Can I take courses out of order (i.e. Yoga II before Yoga I)?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>Some FitWell courses have prerequisites, but most courses don\u2019t. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take courses in the order that best fits your schedule and is based on your level of experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are unsure which level to take, please contact an instructor to determine the best fit.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Can I add or drop a UWM FitWell course?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>You can easily make changes to your schedule in PAWS before classes begin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FitWell courses may be added until the late add deadline. <br>View the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/onestop\/dates-and-deadlines\/interactive-adddrop-calendar\/\">academic calendar<\/a>&nbsp;for add\/drop deadlines. <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/registrar\/students\/enrolling\/adding-dropping-and-changing-classe\">Learn more about adding, dropping and changing classes.<\/a> Dates and deadlines are subject to change.<br><br>If you have questions about your schedule, contact your Academic Advisor. If you\u2019re having trouble with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/paws\">PAWS<\/a>, call the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/technology\/help\/\">Help Desk<\/a> at 414- 229-4040 or toll-free at 877-381-3459.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Are there extra fees for supplies and equipment?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>Some FitWell courses charge a special fee to cover the cost of specialized equipment, uniforms, etc.&nbsp; <br><br>View additional special fees in PAWS or the <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/uwmclasssearch\">Schedule of Classes <\/a>or visit <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uwm.edu\/registrar\/tools\/fee\">Registrar\u2019s Office Course Fees<\/a>. <br><br>There is also an Instructional Technology fee of $30 per credit for all Online courses.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Can Associate-level students take UWM FitWell courses?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>Associate-level (2-year degree) students interested in taking a FitWell course need approval from their associate advisor and the course instructor. UWM Graduate-level tuition rates apply if enrolled for credit. Reach out to the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/graduateschool\/about\/\">Graduate School<\/a> or your Advisor. Check with <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/onestop\/contact\/financial-aid\/contact-financial-aid\/\">Student Financial Services Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Can I audit a UWM FitWell course?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>Instructor permission is not required to audit a UWM FitWell course unless the student is a 60+\/disabled auditor. <br><br>In Fall 2024, 60+ auditors can no longer enroll in FitWell courses offered in Engelmann Gym, the Klotsche Center or the Pavilion.
